New list of recommended immunizations - MZ announcement.
The new list of recommended immunizations for which the purchase of vaccines has been covered by funding from the Minister responsible for health was published on 22 October 2024.
Which patient groups will benefit from free vaccination?
The list includes vaccines against 3 diseases: human papillomavirus (HPV), Covid-19 and pertussis.
HPV vaccination is recommended for people from the age of nine until the age of 14, in a two-dose schedule. The notice notes that for those born in 2010, vaccination must be started before the age of 14 and can be completed after the indicated age with a two-dose schedule. Funding is provided for vaccination from 1 September 2024.
Vaccination against Covid-19 is recommended for people over the age of 6 months, in a multi-dose schedule according to announcements from the Ministry of Health. Funding will cover vaccination from 25 October 2024.
Vaccination against whooping cough is recommended for pregnant women after the completion of the 27th to 36th week of pregnancy, and in justified cases of risk of premature birth also for women after the completion of the 20th week of pregnancy. The vaccination is given in a single-dose schedule and is funded from 15 October 2024.
