The beauty industry under the magnifying glass of the Supreme Medical Council.

The Supreme Medical Council, at its meeting on 22 November 2024, adopted an appeal to the Minister of Health to undertake legislative work aimed at regulating the matter of performing aesthetic medicine procedures in the Republic of Poland.

This information was published on 28 November 2024 on the website of the Supreme Medical Council.

According to the appeal, the Supreme Council of Physicians appeals to the Minister of Health to undertake legislative work aimed at regulating the issue of aesthetic medicine procedures in the Republic of Poland, allowing health services to be performed only by duly qualified persons, who can guarantee a high level of quality and safety of the services provided.

The aim of the above is to ensure the safety of patients and protect them from the serious consequences resulting from the performance of aesthetic medicine procedures by persons without the appropriate qualifications.

The Supreme Medical Council has developed a catalogue of 29 medical procedures. The health services included in the above-mentioned catalogue could only be performed by a doctor or dentist with a current licence to practice.
The list includes popular procedures such as volumetrics, injectable treatments with hyaluronic acid-based stimulators or botulinum toxin, needle mesotherapy and micro-needle radiofrequency.
