Did you know that?
-In an aesthetic medicine clinic, individual procedures can be performed by both a doctor and a cosmetologist.
-Their liability in the event of complications differs significantly. Although both groups may be subject to criminal and civil liability, only doctors may also be subject to professional liability.
-Pursuant to Article 53 of the Act of 2 December 2009 on medical chambers (i.e. Journal of Laws of 2021, item 1342), members of medical chambers are subject to professional liability for violations of medical ethics and regulations related to the practice of medicine, hereinafter referred to as ‘professional misconduct’.
-The penalties that may be imposed by a medical court include a warning, a reprimand, a financial penalty, suspension of the right to practise for a period of one to five years, or even deprivation of the right to practise.
