New list of free vaccinations in pharmacies – important changes.
Dated 20 August 2025, concerning the list of protective vaccinations carried out in pharmacies, which may be financed in whole or in part from public funds (‘Announcement’), which contains a significantly expanded list of free protective vaccinations that may be carried out in pharmacies.
The change is significant in relation to the 2023 list, as the list attached to the current Announcement includes not only vaccinations against pneumococcus, influenza and COVID-19, as before.
According to the current Announcement, the list of vaccinations that will be available free of charge at pharmacies has been expanded to include, among others, vaccinations against diphtheria, tetanus, tick-borne encephalitis (TBE), hepatitis A or B, and respiratory syncytial virus (RSV) infections.
Equally important, the age limit for persons eligible for publicly funded protective vaccinations at pharmacies has changed. Previously, persons over 65 years of age (for pneumococcal and group vaccinations) and persons over 18 years of age (but only for COVID-19 vaccinations).
The new regulations indicate that vaccinations included in the list of protective vaccinations carried out in pharmacies will be eligible for public funding for persons over 18 years of age.
The protective vaccinations indicated in the Announcement will be available at pharmacies from 25 August 2025, i.e. in just a few days.
