KIPA Mini-Meet: Music in Film
As every year, the KIPA offers a series of annual legal and tax trainings KIPA Efficient Production for young entrepreneurs from the audiovisual sector.
This year the training began with practical Mini-Meet: Music in Film led by Krzysztof Czyżewski and Maciej Jamiołkowski. Issues covered:
- what rights should be acquired to use music material in a film/advertisement?
- what is the difference between acquiring the right to a finished (known) work and acquiring rights from a composer who creates a custom-made soundtrack?
- how to prepare (and negotiate) the most important contracts concerning rights to music? (analysis of contracts with a composer, artist, performer, publisher)
- can a piece of music work be modified and developed for the purposes of the film and its artistic character after obtaining the right to synchronize?
The meeting took place September 12 at 10:30 to 13:00 at the KIPA office at 21 Chełmska Street.
