Conference “Reference Biological Drugs and Biosimilar Biological Drugs – Challenges of 2019” attended by Katarzyna Czyżewska

On 19 February, Katarzyna Czyżewska is to give a lecture titled “Reimbursement of Biological Drugs – Challenges in Funding Biological Therapies under the Drug Reimbursement Law” during the conference titled “Reference Biological Drugs and Biosimilar Biological Drugs – Challenges of 2019.”

During her lecture, Katarzyna Czyżewska, attorney at law, shall address the following issues:

- the concept of ‘equivalent’ in the Drug Reimbursement Law in the context of funding of biological drugs

- setting official prices – should different principles apply in the case of biological drugs?

- principles of reimbursement up to a limit and generic substitution of drugs in the context of biological treatment

- limits of service providers’ freedom in purchasing of biological drugs for therapeutical purposes in the context of drug reimbursement
