KIPA MINI-MEET: “Image in a documentary”

On 19 October, another meeting was held in the KIPA MINI-MEET cycle titled: “Image in a documentary”

The workshop was conducted by Krzysztof Czyżewski and Szymon Studziński.

The following issues were addressed during the session:

• Image – what is it and how should it be defined?
• When is a consent to use image required?

• Revoking a consent to use image during film production
• Does payment to an actor have to be made in cash? – barter contracts
• Use of image from archival materials (films or photographs)
• Use of image of a deceased person – do heirs hold any rights?
• Is there such a thing as the ‘image’ of a company, item, animal or facility?
