The Article 29 Working Party adopted several opinions, including an opinion referring to mobile health applications
At the April plenary meeting the Article 29 Working Party, the European advisory body providing advice concerning matters referring to data protection, adopted several important opinions and letters that reveal its plans for the near future. Among adopted documents there are comments regarding the Code of Conduct on privacy for mobile health applications (“Code”).
The Article 29 Working Party presented its first comments on compliance of the Code with the Data Protection Directive, taking into consideration the General Data Protection Regulation (“GDPR”) requirements. The Working Party also informed that it is preparing an opinion on employee monitoring referring to subjects such as use of professional social networks, location tracking to monitor the transport of people or goods and consequences of working off-site in terms of data protection.
The Article 29 Working Party also continued discussing the GDPR implementation and adopted opinion on the draft e-privacy regulation proposed by the European Commission in January 2017. Referring to the draft, the Working Party in general welcomed the information on work progress. However, it expressed doubts related to WiFi tracking, analysis of content and metadata, tracking walls and privacy by default regarding terminal equipment and software.
