Draft of new regulation on a list of medical devices issued on the basis of supply instructions

Minister of Health presented for public consultation the draft of the new regulation on the list of medical devices issued on the basis of the supply instruction. 

Comparing to the regulation currently in force, the draft in particular allows medical registrars to order the supplies. The draft also reflects changes introduced into the Polish healthcare system by the so-called “Pro-life Act” regulating, among other things, rules of “reimbursement” of medical devices in case of patients suffering from medical conditions that occurred during prenatal period or during labor.

Moreover, the draft extends the list of persons qualified to order the supply in relation to some of the publicly financed medical devices. In particular the draft reflects additional competences granted to physical therapists on the basis of the Physical Therapists Act voted into law in 2015.
