New food ingredients

On 19th July 2016, the European Commission published two Implementing Decision authorising placing on the market as a novel food:
•    UV-treated milk - Commission Implementing Decision (EU) 2016/1189 of 19 July 2016 authorising the placing on the market of UV-treated milk as a novel food under Regulation (EC) No 258/97 of the European Parliament and of the Council (notified under document C(2016) 4565);

•    trans-resveratrol - Commission Implementing Decision (EU) 2016/1190 of 19 July 2016 authorising the placing on the market of trans-resveratrol as a novel food ingredient under Regulation (EC) No 258/97 of the European Parliament and of the Council (notified under document C(2016) 4567).
Both decisions lays down provisions for the use of novel food ingredients.
