Emergency access to medical technology – the draft bill

On 25^th March the draft bill amending the Act on health care services financed by public funds has been submitted to public consultations. The draft bill provides additional category of financed health care services – emergency access to medical technology.

The amendment intend to help patients who need a medicine, which is not financed by the public funds in particular indication but is necessary to save life or health of a person for whom all of possible medical technologies have been exhausted.

According to the announcement of the Ministry of Health, it shall be a “safety valve” in the system ensuring possibility of non-standard therapy application.
