Amendment of pharmaceutical law already into force.

On 12 July 2015, an amendment to the Pharmaceutical Law entered into force, but some of the new provisions will be effective from the beginning of 2017. The purpose of the amendment is to solve the problem of uncontrolled export of drugs, medical devices and foods for particular nutritional uses from Poland. 

To achieve this goal, the legislator imposed on all participants in the distribution chain (manufacturers , wholesalers and pharmacies ) an obligation to report stock levels and volume of sales. In addition, a new procedure of controlled export of drugs by wholesalers and a duty of ordering the demand for reimbursed products by pharmacies have been introduced.
The Minister of Health will also announce, at least once every two months, the list of medicinal products threatened by lack of availability on the Polish territory.
